The lanterns dim the streets,

The moon is in the last quarter,

The birds rest,

Flashing lights of cars,

Truck lights crossing the desolate avenues,

Strong wind blows the leaves of the trees,

The branches move,

The leaves come off,

An ill-timed moment for the birds whose flights take different directions,

Now they are on the roofs of some houses in apparent calm,

These are the instincts that anticipate the possibility of danger,

These are warning signs,

Among the shadows a predator moves,

Imperceptible,

Camouflaged with the appearance of a disciplined herbivore,

Non stoppable,

He wants to advance until he manages to catch his prey,

And from the hiding places among the logs,

Appear squirrels owners of the acorns, seeds, barks and chestnuts,

They emit a high-pitched beep that vibrates between the tree leaves,

Alert resonance,

Birds now fly to another roof, higher and further away.

Now they calmly rest.

Los faroles alumbran tenuemente las calles,

La luna está en cuarto menguante,

Las aves descansan,

Luces intermitentes de autos,

Luces de camiones cruzando las avenidas desoladas,

El fuerte viento sopla las hojas de los árboles,

Se mueven las ramas,

Se desprenden las hojas,

Momento intempestivo para las aves cuyos vuelos toman distintas direcciones,

Ahora están en los tejados de algunas casas en aparente calma,

Son los instintos que anticipan la posibilidad del peligro,

Son señales de aviso,

Entre las sombras se mueve un depredador,

Imperceptible,

Camuflado con apariencia de un herbívoro disciplinado,

No se detiene,

Quiere avanzar hasta lograr atrapar a su presa,

Y de los escondites entre los troncos,

Asoman las ardillas dueñas de las bellotas, semillas, cortezas y castañas,

Emiten un pitido agudo que vibra entre las hojas de los árboles,

Resonancia de alerta,

Las aves ahora vuelan hacia otro tejado, más alto y más alejado.

Ahora calmadas descansan.

slow breaths,

silent departures,

forced wait,

hardened faces,

Who do you think goes unnoticed?

The clouds cross over the streets,

shadows cover the trees,

the houses light the lamps,

bonfires heat rooms and orchards,

game faces prepare food,

Is there no hunger, no thirst?

They all share,

 the pressing winter will not be able to cool homes.

Warmth and mutual respect now try to coexist,

circumstance to repair the forces,

to tell stories,

to remove confusion.

respiraciones pausadas,

alejamientos silenciosos,

esperas forzadas,

rostros endurecidos,

¿Quién cree pasar inadvertido?

Las nubes cruzan sobre las calles,

las sombras cubren los árboles,

las casas encienden los lamparines,

las fogatas calientan las salas y huertos,

los rostros animosos preparan los alimentos,

¿Es que no hay hambre, no hay sed?

Todos comparten,

 el invierno apremiante no podrá enfriar los hogares.

La calidez y el respeto mutuo ahora intentan coexistir,

circunstancia para reparar las fuerzas,

para contar historias,

para alejar la confusión.
